22 December 2014 Sean Reilly RIP On Sunday, 30 November 2014, widespread sadness descended throughout the parish, and indeed many adjoining parishes when the news spread that Sean Reilly, Drumbreanlis, Carrigallen, had passed away having being taken by the illness he had bravely fought for the last fifteen months.
Sean was born in Killahurk, Carrigallen and during Hurricane Debbie on 16 September 1961, the family home was destroyed and subsequently they moved to Bredagh, Carrigallen.
He was out and about from early in life, initially working for Tommy Mc Gerty attending fairs and later on attending marts buying and selling cattle.
Following the opening of Carrigallen Mart he worked there for a period of time.
In 1974, he began to work for the late Seamus Williams, rock drilling, and eventually taking over the running of the business in 1996, following Larry Williams' retirement.
He had a great interest in sport, enjoyed fishing and was a member of Carrigallen Tug of War team during the late 1970's.
