Signing in to the computers in the Reference Room Many of The Keep’s resources are available in a variety of formats.
For example, some parish registers have been transcribed, microfilmed or digitised.
Transcripts of parish registers are on the shelves in the Reference Room and can be freely accessed without having to be ordered.
Film readers are also available in the Reference Room for viewing microfilms of either parish records, the extensive newspaper archive dating back to 1749; or wills and probate records – which, again, don’t need to be ordered through the catalogue system.
